ELECTRICAL QUALITY INPSECTORS NEEDED: FST Technical Services was founded in 1984 to serve the needs of the growing, worldwide Semiconductor/Microelectronics and Life Sciences industries. We began as an independent interface between our clients and their subcontractors to establish build clean installation methods that satisfied internal specifications and conformed to regulatory requirements.
We are growing a new QA based team in Lebanon, Indiana at an exciting pharmaceutical facility build! We are seeking immediate support from experienced Electrical QA Inspectors with a history of working a pharmaceutical, semiconductor, data center, or other high-tech facilities.

Position Summary
The Electrical Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations and systems associated with the construction of a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility comply with project specifications, applicable codes, engineering drawings, and quality standards. This role supports the QA/QC program by performing inspections, verifying documentation, and ensuring that electrical installations meet the stringent requirements required for pharmaceutical manufacturing environments and GMP-compliant facilities.The Electrical Quality Inspector works closely with construction teams, subcontractors, engineers, and commissioning personnel to verify that electrical systems are installed correctly, safely, and in accordance with regulatory and project standards.
Key Responsibilities – Electrical Quality Inspections
- Perform inspections of electrical installations including conduit, cable tray, wiring, grounding systems, panels, switchgear, and lighting systems.
- Verify installation of power distribution systems, motor control centers (MCCs), transformers, and instrumentation wiring.
- Inspect installation of cleanroom electrical systems and classified area equipment ensuring compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Ensure electrical work complies with NFPA, NEC, local codes, and project specifications.
- Verify electrical installations align with approved Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings.
Documentation & Quality Control
- Review electrical installation documentation including inspection and test plans (ITPs), method statements, material submittals, and electrical test reports.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, punch lists, and quality reports.
- Identify non-conformances and issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) when required.
- Track and verify corrective actions and re-inspections.
Testing & Verification
- Witness and verify electrical testing activities including continuity testing, insulation resistance testing (Megger), and grounding verification.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities by validating installation readiness.
- Verify labeling, identification, and documentation of electrical components.
Collaboration & Coordination
- Coordinate with electrical subcontractors, construction supervisors, engineering teams, and commissioning personnel.
- Participate in quality walkdowns, system turnovers, and punch list reviews.
- Provide technical guidance to contractors regarding quality standards.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure work complies with pharmaceutical industry requirements, GMP expectations, and quality documentation practices.
- Verify installations meet safety standards and site-specific electrical safety requirements.
- Promote a culture of quality, safety, and compliance on the project site.
Required Qualifications – Education
Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.Experience
- 5+ years of electrical inspection or electrical construction experience.
- Experience on pharmaceutical, life sciences, semiconductor, or mission-critical construction projects strongly preferred.
- Experience with industrial electrical systems and large-scale construction projects.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and electrical construction practices.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Familiarity with GMP-regulated facilities or cleanroom environments preferred.
Skills
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency with quality documentation systems and inspection reporting tools.
Preferred Certifications
- Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) – ASQ
- NICET Electrical Certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Construction Safety
- Electrical Journeyman License (preferred but not required)
Working Conditions
- Primarily field-based role on an active construction site.
- It requires walking construction areas, climbing ladders, and accessing elevated work locations. Possibly on scaffolding and requiring wearing harnesses.
- Use of PPE and adherence to site safety requirements required.
